Corned Beef

There’s no corn in this, other than whatever corn the cow ate, which, upon further reflection is probably actually a lot of corn. The name comes from the curing process which involves large “corns” of salt, which, come on, no it doesn’t. No one has ever used that term except to explain why corned beef is called that. Probably at some point somebody just forgot what corn was and by the time they remembered “corned” beef had already developed unstoppable name inertia. Makes for a tasty sandwich, though. 4.3/5
